THIS PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.
At the beginning of each year, after the votes have been cast at the Annual General Membership Meeting, a new Executive is formed. There are a few tasks that need to be accomplished to successfully onboard the new Executive. A successful baton-pass from one Executive to the next is essential for a smooth transition and a healthy start to the new year and for preventing burnout and keeping our union strong.
The Following List is a work-in-progress, as of March 20, 2025. If you have ideas for this page, please share with your Local Secretary.
- Update the Local 685 Website. In particular make sure to update the following two pages: Executive Officers and Unit Stewards. When time permits, click here for a list of all the pages that need to be updated.
- Update Membership about the new LEC. Click here for a template for informing the the Members about the new LEC. Members can also be referred to the Local 685 Website.
- Update the Administration about the new LEC team. Click here for a template for informing the administration of the new LEC officers.
- Update OPSEU email aliases on AU system (e.g. OPSEU Local Executive email aliases). This prevents the previous Executive from continuing to receive sensitive communications that are meant for the current LEC. <Note. I am making a short video-clip that steps through the process of updating email aliases. I shall include that here soon.>
- Provide basic “survival” orientation for incoming stewards (even half an hour would be helpful until they are able to take the OPSEU formal training).
