OPSEU Local 685 Petition
Please sign the following Petition to save our programs at Algoma University. We’ve extended the deadline until July 18, 2025 to make a difference. Since the Spring 2025 semester, admissions to these five programs were suspended abruptly: Geography, History, Music, Sociology, and Visual Arts. Halting these degree programs will adversely affect students already enrolled in these programs, will adversely impact our partnerships with the Indigenous community, will reduce the variety of electives for all students, and will impact other degrees and certificates. We call on Algoma University’s Board of Governors and President and Vice-Chancellor to reverse this decision and to reinstate admissions to these programs.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has already signed the petition to save our programs. We currently have nearly 800 signatures from faculty, staff, students, and concerned citizens, as well as members of faculty associations across Canada. Please help us reach 1000. OPSEU Algoma University Local 685 thanks you for your support.
